Yesterday, I tried for the first time after I came to the USA to make wings using an oven. Because in China we do not use oven in family cooking as much as people do here, I felt so excited that I was going to learn how to use oven to make food and it turned out that it was not so hard!
The wings I wanted to make was Buffalo wings. The first the step was to make sure the wings were full of spicy flavor. Put flour, salt, red pepper, and garlic powder in a bowl and mix them together. Then put the wings in and coat the with the mixture evenly. Then Cover the bowl and refrigerate it for 1 h -------This is the ideal process. However I made a mistake that I put the wings in first then add all the flour and seasonings, which turned out to be not evenly on the wings. :(
The second step was to make the spicy baking sauce. This step was easy. Melt the butter in a pan and then added hot sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mixed them thoroughly. Let it cool down a little bit, then ready to go!
The third step was to bake them! Before place the wings on the baking sheet, make sure you dip and coat them in the mixture sauce you just made! Preheated the oven to 400 degree F and then put the wings in! Baked them for 40m and turned them halfway so each side was cooked!
Ready to serve!! Yummy! I will try more things in the future!

Vicky, these Buffalo wings seem delicious!! I think is awesome that you try cooking new foods. Thanks for all the cooking steps! I also found interesting what you said about not using the oven very much in China. Is incredible how the way of cooking changes so much from one culture to another.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is. In China, we use more pan fried, pot stew and steam. Oven is really a new tool for me to cook.
DeleteThank you for sharing your cooking experience and process. I love buffalo wings and yours look delicious! I may have to try out your recipe sometime. -Alexis
